Based in the Lake District, I spend most days in the mountains. When I’m not hiking with the dogs, I lead groups on mountain hikes, volunteer with Fix the Fells, contribute to Mud and Routes as a Local Expert and do a little freelance marketing on the side.
Favourite Adventures so far:
- Bagged all 214 Wainwrights in 11 months
- Hiked the Tour de Monte Rosa solo (well just me and the Mallie dog), a 100-mile trek across the Swiss/Italian Alps, circling the Monte Rosa massif
- Thru-hiked 70 miles across the Bernese Oberland, from Engelberg to Kandersteg.
Stepping Outside
I hope this blog inspires you to have outdoor adventures, whether you're just starting out or looking for more advanced walking routes and gear tips.
The Dogs
I'm a big believer of 'never leave the dog behind' so wherever I hike, the dogs come along too.
Mallie is a ten year old Havanese and despite being small and fluffy, she has the energy of a collie and seems to be part mountain goat.
Gus is a new addition to the team. We think he’s a shepherd-collie cross; a perfect mix for mountain adventures!
